A tradition made in heaven

In 2023, Tom Kristensen continued his annual tradition of participating in the Goodwood Revival, a tradition he began in 2012. This unique event is held at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, with its mid-September date firmly established on the international motorsport calendar. What sets the Goodwood Revival apart is not only the thrilling racing but also the authentic period dress code – gentlemen don tweeds and trilbies, while ladies don furs and frocks. Modern cars are strictly forbidden within the circuit on race days, preserving the vintage atmosphere. The event is also renowned for its spectacular warbird flying displays, paying tribute to Goodwood’s history as a wartime fighter base.

Tom took part in the races driving a Lister Jaguar Coupe (1963) and an Austin A90 Westminster (1956). His notable achievement during the event was securing a 3rd place in the St. Mary’s Trophy Race 1, an impressive feat considering he started from the 22nd position.

Tom, along with his long-term agent, Jan Würgler, and his son, Oliver, showed up in Superman costumes for the Duke’s special night.
As Rory Salvadori aptly put it, ‘Give me Goodwood on a summer’s day, and you can forget the rest of the world.'”
